Fred Quinn, Jr. son of the late Fred Quinn and Rosalie Quinn, was born on May 29, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and graduated from Westinghouse Technical High School in 1969 and also attended New York College of Technology
Fred began his professional journey at Household Finance before moving on to a long and successful career at Citibank. Later, he joined the New York City Transit Authority, where he served with dedication until his retirement in 2010.
He was a master of electronics with an incredible music and movie library he took great pride in. A true gadget enthusiast, he was often the first to discover the latest technology and he loved sharing it with others. Whether it was explaining how something worked or demonstrating its value, he found genuine joy in helping people understand and appreciate the tools he loved.
He leaves a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his devoted siblings Paulette and Quentin, one sister-in-law Elizabeth and his four beloved children Malik, Ebony, Andrea, Taylor and one niece Jasmine. Five grandchildren, Malaysia, Evan and Hallie, Tyshawn, Mya and three great-great-grandchildren Maddy, Araceli and Khyson. He is also survived by his loving companion Jan who stayed by his side with unwavering love and support, and a host of cousins and friends.
Two of his children would like to share a few words in his memory:
From Ebony: “He was a great father and an outstanding grandfather. Thanks for always being there for me and my kids. We love and miss you so much.”
From Taylor: “Daddy, I loved you so much. You were such a great father, strong, loving, and always proud of me and I carry that with me. I hope you are watching over me now because everything I do from here on out is with you in my heart.”
Although Fred has left this earth, his light will continue to shine, and his memory cherished in the lives he touched.
