Caroline Odessa Douglas was born on December 28, 1939, in Layou, St. Vincent, West Indies, she was born the 10th of 15 children born to the late Rosamond and Herbert Douglas.

As a child, Caroline was taught by her parents to make God and the study of His word the center of her life, and this remained constant with her throughout her life's journey.

Caroline work in varied career fields in St. Vincent while caring for her mother, her daughters and some "adopted" nieces and nephews.  She emigrated to Barbados where her home became a "haven" for both family members and friends, a tradition carried on from her life work in St. Vincent.  She later emigrated to the US where her lifework was spent serving and caring for others as a personal healthcare professional in Louisiana and New York, until her retirement.  She also served as a volunteer, in the homeless ministries, at Vanderveer Park United Methodist Church.

Caroline was an avid humanitarian who dedicated her life to helping others whether it was through her work, volunteerism or monetary donation to aid those in need.  Those whose lives she has touched remain a constant reminder to her compassionate, loving and caring persona.  Affectionately known by all those who knew and loved her as "Tant," "Tanty Ado" "sweet Caroline." her memories will continue to live forever.
